REMINDER About FREE Breakfast AND FREE Lunch for ALL Students for 2025-2026

So, just as a reminder to our HISD School Community...

Our amazing Food Service Department, headed by Ms. Connie Burrell, has worked hard for our kids and district, and their efforts have paid off for EVERY STUDENT in our school district!  

All a student has to do is go through the cafeteria line and grab a FREE meal!  No questions asked!

The NSLP (National School Lunch Programs) application packet was approved by the State of Texas for FREE Breakfast and FREE Lunch for ALL HISD students district-wide for the School Year 2025-2026.

This will continue for the next three (3) years. The Region 7 Education Service Center will do another review of our qualifications before the end of the 4th year to see if we still qualify to continue serving our students free breakfast and lunch district-wide.

This is available to ALL students!  

We encourage every student to take advantage of FREE meals!  

The more students we have that take advantage of this program, the more it will help our Food Service Department to continue to offer this to ALL students for many years to come!
